The Eye of Deception and the Sun of False Light

Writer: Michelle HaymanMichelle Hayman

Yesterday, we explored how the bull has long been associated with divine power, tracing its symbolism from the Apis Bull of Amun-Ra to Baal, the storm god of Canaan. We saw how Baal worship, deeply intertwined with material wealth, kingship, and priestly control, carried forward into Rome, where the emperor/high priest of Jupiter (Pontifex Maximus) maintained the same system of political and spiritual dominion. The continuity of this bull cult ultimately found its way into the papal system, where power and wealth are concentrated under a religious empire that claims divine authority on Earth.

Today, we will take this investigation further, examining how the bull’s symbolism is not only a relic of ancient idolatry but is also directly tied to the Beast of Revelation. The Book of Revelation describes a world-dominating system, rising from the sea, demanding economic and spiritual submission, and carrying Mystery Babylon, the great harlot of religious deception. This Beast, much like the bull-gods before it, demands worship, controls the world’s wealth, and ultimately opposes the true Christ.

By following the thread of the bull from Baal to the Vatican, we will uncover how this ancient system of control, sacrifice, and financial dominion is not only still active but is the very force leading to the fulfillment of the prophecies of the last days.

The Apis Bull of Amun-Ra: The Idol of Earthly Kingship

In ancient Egypt, the Apis Bull was venerated as the living manifestation of Amun-Ra, the sun god and supreme deity of Egyptian religion. Amun-Ra was worshipped as the divine father of pharaohs, granting them legitimacy as rulers of the earth. The bull, a symbol of fertility, power, and cosmic order, was not merely an animal but a vessel for divine presence, an earthly representation of the false god in physical form.

When Moses confronted Pharaoh, the conflict was more than political—it was spiritual. The Golden Calf that the Israelites worshipped in the wilderness (Exodus 32) was a return to this very system, to the idolatry of Egypt and Amun-Ra, a symbolic rejection of Yahweh’s sovereignty in favour of a god that represented material power, fertility, and wealth.

As civilization transitioned from Egypt to Canaan, the bull remained central to worship. Baal, the storm god of the Canaanites, was depicted as a mighty bull, embodying fertility, kingship, and the prosperity of the land. Worship of Baal involved priestly intercession, "blood sacrifices", and economic control, mirroring the structure of both Egyptian and later Roman religious systems.

When Jezebel and Ahab led Israel into Baal worship, the people did not think they were turning from God; they believed they were merely elevating a system that controlled their material success. This was the same deception at play when Rome fused paganism with Christianity, elevating the Pontifex Maximus as the new high priest over a religious empire that absorbed elements of Baal and Jupiter worship.

The Beast of Revelation: The Image of the Bull Transformed

Revelation 13 describes a beast rising from the sea, given power by the dragon and worshipped by the whole world. The Beast has a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies and demands worship. This is a direct continuation of the ancient bull cults, where rulers were divinely sanctioned, the people were made dependent on a system of economic and spiritual control, and idolatry was institutionalized.

The Beast’s mark, which restricts buying and selling, is eerily similar to the way Baal’s priesthood controlled economic life, how Egypt’s priests controlled the wealth of the temples, and how the papal system centralized financial and spiritual authority over nations through indulgences, banking, and papal bulls (decrees that divided and ruled over lands and people).

The Vatican’s global financial empire, its control over world politics and spiritual doctrine, and its role as pontifex maximus, a title originally belonging to the high priest of Jupiter (the Roman equivalent of Baal), make it a striking parallel to the Beast that rules over nations.

The Pontifex Maximus, the title now held by the pope, was originally the emperor/high priest of Jupiter in ancient Rome. Jupiter, like Baal, was a storm god, a king-maker, and the divine authority behind empires. When the Roman Empire fused with the church, the papacy inherited the structure of Baal and Jupiter worship, cloaked in Christian terminology but maintaining the same hierarchical control, priestly intercession, and wealth-driven authority.

The pope, as the Vicar (in place of) Christ, claims divine authority on Earth, just as Egyptian pharaohs claimed through the Apis Bull, just as Baal’s priests claimed over Canaan, and just as Jupiter’s high priest dictated Rome’s spiritual order. The Bull of Wall Street, which represents economic might, is an extension of this system of financial and material control, ensuring that power remains concentrated within the same lineage of rulers.

The Antichrist, as described in 2 Thessalonians 2:4, "exalts himself above all that is called God," sitting in the temple of God, declaring himself as divine. The papacy fits this description, having inserted itself as the supreme authority over faith and salvation, dictating who receives grace through its priestly system, in direct opposition to Christ’s gospel of salvation by faith alone.

The Bull: A Symbol of the Rejection of Christ

Throughout history, the bull has symbolized a worldly kingdom that seeks to replace the true God with a system of human control. It was present in Egypt with the Apis Bull, in Canaan with Baal, in Rome with Jupiter, and today it is enshrined in the Vatican’s power, the financial empires of the world, and the Beast system prophesied in Revelation.

Christ’s message was one of spiritual liberation, while the Bull system is one of bondage—bondage to wealth, to priestly intercession, to economic control, and to a religious structure that rejects the true gospel. When Christ overturned the money changers’ tables in the temple, He was confronting the same system of material idolatry that has existed since the days of Baal.

The Beast and the Antichrist are not coming—they are here. The system of Baal, the priesthood of Jupiter, and the Pontifex Maximus have not vanished. They have evolved, adapted, and disguised themselves, operating through the Vatican’s spiritual empire, the global financial system, and the control of human souls through deception.

The Beast of Revelation emerges as a system of spiritual and political dominion, enforcing absolute control over nations and demanding allegiance from the world. Revelation 13 describes a Beast rising from the sea, a composite entity drawing its power from previous empires—Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome—empowered by the Dragon, identified as Satan (the adversary). This Beast is not just a single ruler but a global force, reviving after a fatal wound, regaining authority, and exerting influence over both the economy and religious worship.

The reemergence of the Roman Empire as the Beast is foretold in the Book of Revelation, describing a political and religious system that rises in the last days, reviving the power of past empires while demanding global allegiance. This Beast is not merely a future creation—it is the culmination of an ancient pattern, a system of control, deception, and false worship that has existed since the days of Baal and has been carried forward through Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome. What was once the imperial power of Rome has resurfaced in a new form, hidden behind religious authority, yet wielding the same influence over nations, economies, and spiritual devotion.

The Bible traces the lineage of this Beast through history, showing how each world empire carried the same core spiritual corruption. In Babylon, Baal was venerated under the name Marduk (also known as Bel, from which the name Bel fires originates) the god of dominion, whose priests controlled the wealth of the empire and enforced religious submission. In Medo-Persia, this same role was transferred to Ahura Mazda and Mithra, gods of divine kingship and sworn covenants, binding rulers and empires under a single spiritual authority. Greece continued this legacy through Zeus, the thunder god who granted power to kings, while in Rome, Jupiter took his place, ruling as the divine protector of the empire. In every age, the same force was at work: a system that blended political authority with religious control, ensuring that rulers were not merely kings but divine representatives on earth.

The Roman Empire did not vanish—it transformed. When pagan Rome fell, papal Rome rose, and the title of Pontifex Maximus, once held by the emperor/high priest of Jupiter, was transferred to the pope. The Vatican inherited the wealth, influence, and religious structure of Rome, becoming a spiritual empire that dictated the course of nations. Revelation 13 describes the Beast as one that suffers a mortal wound but is healed, causing the world to wonder after it. This aligns perfectly with the history of Rome—an empire that fell in 476 AD, yet was resurrected through the "Holy" Roman Empire, which placed the pope at the center of both religious and political control.

The Beast is both an empire and a system, and it is this system that continues today. Just as Baal, Marduk, Zeus, and Jupiter represented earthly power disguised as divine right, so too does the modern papal system act as both a religious leader and a political force, exerting influence over global affairs. The Beast of Revelation 17 is seen carrying Mystery Babylon, the great harlot, a religious entity that holds sway over kings and nations. This perfectly reflects the Vatican’s long-standing role as a political mediator, a hoarder of immense wealth, and a religious empire that demands absolute submission. Operating through sorcery and demonic influence, much like Simon Magus, it has deceived nations under the guise of spiritual authority.

But beyond this, the pope is now actively working to establish world dominance for the arrival of the Antichrist incarnate. Through interfaith dialogue, he seeks to unite the world’s religions under one global faith, breaking down theological barriers between Protestantism, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, and even secular humanism. This push for religious unity under the leadership of the Vatican is not about peace—it is about control. The final Beast system is not just political, it is spiritual deception on a global scale, drawing all faiths into a counterfeit kingdom that opposes Christ.

The Bible warns that in the final days, this revived Roman system will enforce economic and spiritual control, just as Baal’s priesthood once dictated prosperity, and Babylon’s temple priests controlled the wealth of the empire. Revelation describes a time when no one may buy or sell without the mark of the Beast, reflecting the same financial domination that the Roman Church historically wielded through indulgences, banking power, and political alliances. The pope’s role in shaping the global financial system, advocating for centralized economic structures, and using his influence to reshape world politics is evidence that the final empire is preparing for the arrival of its king—not Christ, but the Antichrist.

What was once the worship of Baal, the authority of Babylon, the power of Persia, the supremacy of Greece, and the dominion of Rome is now unified into one final system—the revived Beast of Revelation. The pattern is unmistakable. The spiritual rebellion that began in Babylon continues today, disguised in new forms but carrying the same core deception: the rejection of Christ’s kingdom in favour of earthly power. The pope, as the modern Pontifex Maximus, is preparing the way for the world to receive its false saviour—the Antichrist who will rise to sit in the temple of God, declaring himself to be God.

The Beast is here, and its empire has never truly fallen—it has only changed its appearance, waiting for the moment when it will once again claim authority over all the earth. The pope is not merely a religious figure; he is the high priest of the Beast system, working to unite the world in a false peace, an apostate faith, and a kingdom that will stand in direct opposition to the return of Jesus Christ.

The Bull as a Symbol of Satan’s Power

Horns have always been a mark of strength, rulership, and spiritual authority. In the Bible, horns are often used symbolically to represent kings and kingdoms (Daniel 7:7-8, Revelation 13:1), often those that stand in rebellion against God. The bull, with its mighty horns, was worshipped across cultures as a divine force, yet it also carried the spirit of false power, exalting earthly rulers and material wealth over the true God.

When Israel turned to Baal worship, they were not merely bowing to an idol but submitting to a demonic system of power, one that rejected the true God in favour of a counterfeit dominion.

In Canaan, Baal, meaning "lord" or "master," was depicted as a bull-horned deity who controlled storms, fertility, and kingship. His priests performed rituals of "blood sacrifice", mirroring the future Satanic associations of the horned god figure. The worship of Baal often included child sacrifice, sexual rituals, and fire offerings, all practices later condemned as acts of Satanic rebellion in the Bible.

The Greeks and Romans inherited this bull imagery in their supreme gods, Zeus and Jupiter, both of whom were depicted with thunderbolts and bull-like strength. In Egyptian mythology, the Apis Bull of Amun-Ra was considered a living deity, guiding kings and rulers, reinforcing the connection between earthly power and divine imitation.

However, as Christianity spread, Satan began to be depicted with the very same horns that once symbolized pagan gods. The image of the horned god, once revered in Baal and Zeus, was now recognized as a deception, a false power that stood in opposition to Christ. The horns of the bull became the horns of the Devil, marking him as the false ruler of the world, the one who claims dominion over the earth through deception, just as Baal’s priests led Israel into apostasy. One clear connection is between Jupiter Ammon, a fusion of Jupiter and the Egyptian god Amun (Amun-Ra), who was depicted with ram’s horns. This version of Jupiter incorporated the horned imagery of Amun, representing divine kingship, power, and fertility. Roman rulers and generals, seeking divine legitimacy, often paid homage to Jupiter Ammon, reinforcing the idea that horns symbolized divine authority.

Yet, in 2019 in an act of mockery against the people of God, Rome has placed the very statue of their false god within the Colosseum—the very site where thousands of true Christians were slaughtered, fed to lions, and martyred for their faith.

The false god Baal (Moloch)—the Bull of Apis, worshipped through human sacrifice— sat in the Colosseum, where true Christians were slain. A mockery of God’s people.

Revelation and the Beast with Horns

The Book of Revelation confirms this association, describing the Beast rising from the sea with ten horns (Revelation 13:1), a resurgence of the same demonic system that began with Baal worship. The second Beast, the False Prophet, is said to have "two horns like a lamb but speaks like a dragon" (Revelation 13:11)—a deceptive religious power that appears holy but ultimately serves Satan.

This description directly ties into the modern role of the papacy, which, as the inheritor of the Pontifex Maximus, continues the horned deception. The pope, though appearing as a man of peace, sits atop a system of global religious and political power, uniting nations, kings, and economies under a single authority—just as the Beast of Revelation is prophesied to do.

The Horns of Satan Today

The bull remains a dominant image in the modern world, symbolizing financial power (Wall Street’s Charging Bull), military strength, and economic control. But beyond these surface meanings, the horns of the bull still represent the same false dominion that began with Baal. The pope’s push for a one-world religion, economic influence, and political alliances all reflect the continuation of the horned Beast of Revelation, a system that presents itself as divine but ultimately serves the dragon—Satan himself.

From Baal to Jupiter, from Babylon to Rome, from the ancient bull gods to the modern financial empires, the horns of Satan remain a sign of counterfeit power, leading the world away from the true authority of Christ. The Beast system is rising, and its horns are already in place, waiting to enforce the final rebellion against God.

"And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues."Revelation 18:4

The coming of the Antichrist will be the greatest deception the world has ever seen. Satan, the father of lies (John 8:44), has always counterfeited God’s truth, twisting it to lead mankind into rebellion. But in the final days, his deception will reach its peak. The Antichrist (Satan incarnate) will not come as an obvious enemy, but as a saviour—The Devil incarnate, the false messiah the world has been conditioned to accept. He will come clothed in peace, offering unity, security, and prosperity, but beneath his facade lies the same ancient spirit that led Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome into idolatry and destruction.

The Bible warns that this man of sin (the final pope?) will perform signs and wonders, deceiving those who refuse the truth of Christ. "Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved." (2 Thessalonians 2:9-10). The Antichrist will mimic Jesus, performing miracles, healing the sick, and proclaiming a kingdom of peace. But this peace is an illusion, for his kingdom will be one of control, oppression, and the ultimate rebellion against God.

The Book of Revelation reveals that the world will worship him, blinded by his false authority. "And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?" (Revelation 13:4). Just as Baal demanded worship through idolatry, child sacrifice, and submission to his priesthood, the Antichrist will demand absolute allegiance, forcing all to receive his mark in order to buy or sell (Revelation 13:16-17).

The Vatican, as the revived Roman Empire, plays its role in preparing the way. Through its push for interfaith unity, world governance, and economic control, it is laying the foundation for the Antichrist’s reign. Mystery Babylon, the harlot who rides the beast (Revelation 17), is a false religious system intertwined with political power, just as Baal worship was once the heart of global empires. The Antichrist will not abolish religion—he will redefine it, absorbing all faiths into one false worship centered around himself.

"Satan’s greatest desire was to be worshipped as God—'I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.' (Isaiah 14:14)

This deception will be so strong that only those whose names are written in the Book of Life will resist it. "For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect." (Matthew 24:24). The world, desperate for peace and stability, will welcome him as their saviour, failing to see that he is Satan (the adversary) in human form, the ultimate counterfeit of Christ.

But his reign will be short-lived. The true Christ will return, not as a suffering servant, but as the conquering King. "And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming." (2 Thessalonians 2:8). The Antichrist’s kingdom will crumble, just as Babylon, Persia, Greece, and Rome fell before him. Satan’s final attempt to dethrone God will fail, and those who chose the deception will perish with him.

The time of decision is now. The world is being conditioned to accept the Beast, to reject Christ in favour of a false, earthly kingdom. But the true kingdom of God is not of this world (John 18:36), and only those who turn to Jesus—the real Messiah—will escape the judgment that is coming.

Let me clarify further about God’s Kingdom—it is not of this world and cannot be perceived through our five senses. There exists an unseen realm, beyond the physical, where His Kingdom reigns.

The Bible clearly teaches that there is a distinction between earthly bodies and spiritual bodies, revealing the nature of God, the resurrection of Christ, and the transformation of believers into incorruptible, eternal beings in His Kingdom. The Kingdom of God is not of this world (John 18:36), for God is a Spirit (John 4:24), and those who follow Him will be changed from corruptible flesh to immortality at the resurrection.

The Apostle Paul explains this mystery in 1 Corinthians 15:40, 42-44:"There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another."

"So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body."

This passage reveals that the earthly body we now possess is temporary, weak, and subject to corruption, but when we are resurrected, we will receive a new, glorified, incorruptible body—one that is fit for eternity in God's spiritual kingdom.

Christ Himself was the first to experience this transformation. After His resurrection, His body was no longer bound by earthly limitations. He appeared and disappeared at will (Luke 24:31), He could enter locked rooms (John 20:19), yet He was still recognizable and could even eat (Luke 24:42-43). His resurrected body was incorruptible, eternal, and glorious, and the Bible promises that we will be like Him in the resurrection.

Paul confirms this in Philippians 3:20-21:"For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself."

This transformation is not just physical, but spiritual. The Kingdom of God is not of this world (John 18:36), and flesh and blood cannot inherit it. Paul declares in 1 Corinthians 15:50-53: "Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption."

"Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed."

"For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality."

Just as Christ's body was raised in glory, never to die again, so too will those who believe in Him receive incorruptible, eternal bodies, no longer subject to death, pain, or sin.

But not all will be part of this resurrection to glory. Only those who are truly born again of the Holy Spirit belong to Christ. Jesus Himself said in John 3:5-6,"Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit."

To inherit the Kingdom of God, one must be spiritually reborn, transformed from within by the power of the Holy Spirit. Those who do not receive the Holy Spirit are not of Christ. Paul makes this clear in Romans 8:9,"But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his."

Yet the false religious system of the papacy works tirelessly to keep people from receiving the true Holy Spirit, offering a counterfeit religion, and water baptism that replaces salvation by faith in Christ alone with a man-made hierarchy of priests, sacraments, and rituals that deny the power of the Spirit. The Vatican has exalted itself as the mediator between man and God, contrary to Scripture, which declares in 1 Timothy 2:5,"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus."

The Roman system does not lead people to Christ—it leads them into deception, binding them to rituals, indulgences, and submission to earthly authority instead of true spiritual rebirth in Christ. This is why Mystery Babylon, the harlot of Revelation, is described as making the nations drunk with the wine of her fornication (Revelation 17:2), blinding them from the truth.

The hope of the resurrection is not found in religious institutions, traditions, or the dictates of men, but in Christ alone. His resurrection is the guarantee that those who belong to Him will also be raised incorruptible. But those who are deceived by the false church, who refuse to be born again of the Holy Spirit, will remain in corruption.

"Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues." (Revelation 18:4).

The time is short. The Antichrist system is rising, and the deception is deepening. Now is the time to seek the true Christ, to be born again of His Spirit, and to stand firm in the promise of the resurrection. For only those in Him will be raised in glory to inherit the Kingdom that is not of this world.

I Imagine those in the end days, crying out, "Why didn’t they warn me?"

How many books, signs, and warnings did the prophets and apostles proclaim, only for them to be rejected, ignored, and dismissed?
