Many wonder about Babylon's relevance today, but its impact on the world's moral fabric cannot be ignored.
It's a long one so grab a cuppa.
During their captivity in Babylon between 597 and 539 BCE. the Israelites imbibed esoteric teachings from Babylon, shaping their spiritual worldview. These influences, steeped in idolatry and moral decay, continue to echo through history, impacting societies and individuals. Understanding Babylon's legacy sheds light on the roots of evil in our world and offers insights into overcoming its grasp on humanity.
In Ezekiel's vision whilst in captivity in Babylon, he witnesses priests secretly worshiping pagan gods within the temple precincts. Despite their outward adherence to Christ's God, these acts of idolatry reveal a deeper spiritual corruption among the religious leaders.
In the King James Bible, Jesus' condemnation of the Pharisees as hypocrites is found in Matthew 23:13-15:
"But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves."
So how did esoteric knowledge (witchcraft) become known in places like Spain, South America, Brazil, East and West Indies?
The dissemination of Kabbalistic knowledge (the manipulation of natural forces) occurred through migration, cultural exchange, trade networks, and scholarly writings. Communities carried Kabbalistic teachings with them as they settled in new lands, ie Spain, South America, Brazil, East and West Indies where they often merged with local beliefs and practices, influencing spiritual thought and practice in diverse cultural settings.
Merged with local beliefs, keep that in mind.
Now you may think this off topic but stay with me until the end.
Here is a list of the Ten commandment found in the Hebrew Bible and the Old Testament of the Christian Bible.
1. You shall have no other gods before me.
2. You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.
3. You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God.
4. Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.
5. Honor your father and your mother.
6. You shall not murder.
7. You shall not commit adultery.
8. You shall not steal.
9. You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.
10. You shall not covet your neighbor's house, wife, servants, animals, or anything else.
Here are the Roman Catholic Church's version:
1. I am the Lord your God. You shall not have strange gods before me.
2. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.
3. Remember to keep holy the Sabbath day.
4. Honor your father and your mother.
5. You shall not kill.
6. You shall not commit adultery.
7. You shall not steal.
8. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
9. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife.
10. You shall not covet your neighbor's goods.
Where's the one about graven images? Number 2 in the Christian Bible and why has number 9 simply been split into two commandments to make number ten?
And how is it okay to worship other gods so long as they are not strange?
Why is it important to note the changing of commandment number 2?
In my opinion this allowed the continuation of idol worship, from the pagan religion Babylon. Example:
Historically the title "Queen of Heaven" was associated with the goddess Ishtar but in the Roman Catholic Church, it now refers to the Virgin Mary.
The use of statues and symbols within the Roman Catholic Church, could be perceived by some as a front for the continuation of the worship of Babylonian pagan gods and esoteric practices.
But why is this important? If this was the case it would make it the counterfeit church, otherwise known as Satan's. To which God says:
"Get out of her, my people" from the Book of Revelation in the New Testament of the Bible. It is found in Revelation 18:4.
In Revelation, the Harlot Babylon is depicted wearing luxurious scarlet and purple clothing adorned with gold, jewels, and pearls, symbolizing wealth and extravagance. The golden cup she holds represents spiritual corruption and idolatry. This imagery serves as a warning against the allure of worldly power and materialism, urging believers to remain faithful to God amidst spiritual deception.
See below:
But why does this matter?
False churches can mislead people by distorting essential truths about God and salvation, promoting works-based salvation or spiritual manipulation, and offering false promises of prosperity or enlightenment. This can lead individuals away from the genuine path of salvation found in Jesus Christ and His teachings.
It's also important to note that for some, Jesus was a historical figure, but not the Son of God or the Messiah foretold in Jewish scripture.
If Jesus were not the Son of God, then how could I have cleansed my home of demons and experienced seven bursts of energy emanating from my auric field to dispel witchcraft, sorry Kabbalistic magic, all in his name?
Witchcraft is undeniably real, and it surprises me that the church no longer addresses this or acknowledges the existence of demons.
Also, Deuteronomy 4:2 states: "You shall not add to the word that I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God that I command you."
Nor add or take from God's word! Yet commandment number two was annihilated and the Ten Commandments rewritten to suit their needs.
Jesus warned his followers about the presence of false prophets, deceptive teachings, and counterfeit religious practices.
Matthew 7:15 "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves."
In Matthew 24:24, Jesus warns that false Christs and false prophets will arise and perform signs and wonders to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.
Signs of wonder through witchcraft perhaps?
The apostle Paul also addresses the issue of false teachers and doctrines in his letters. In 2 Corinthians 11:13-15, he warns about false apostles who disguise themselves as servants of righteousness.
In Galatians 1:6-9, Paul expresses astonishment that the Galatians are so quickly deserting the true gospel for a different gospel.
These warnings serve as reminders for believers to exercise discernment, to test the spirits, and to hold fast to the true teachings of Jesus Christ. They emphasise the importance of staying rooted in the truth of Scripture and being vigilant against deception and false doctrines.
"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge" Hosea 4:6
I'll leave you with the tale of William Tyndale who, in the times when the Roman Catholic Church restricted the possession, translation, and reading of the Holy Bible to control access to information, he faced persecution, including being burned at the stake, for his efforts to translate it into English for the common people.
