As a survivor of occultism, I've pointed out the widespread presence of evil in our society. I do not apologise for repeating myself as a way to emphasise the point. From seemingly harmless trends to more covert occult practices, the allure of ancient mysticism appears to be on the rise. Yet, amidst this fascination lies a darker truth, a truth that demands our attention and caution.
Hidden behind the facade are infernal powers, dark and malevolent forces that prey on unsuspecting souls.
Infernal powers typically refer to supernatural or spiritual forces associated with the realm of Hell or the underworld. These powers are often depicted as malevolent, demonic, or diabolical in nature. Here's a closer look at what infernal powers may entail:
Demons, possessing supernatural abilities such as shape-shifting and telepathy. Associated with temptation and deception, they can be summoned for various purposes in occult practices.
Hexes are cast with intention and preparation, within specific ritual spaces and timing. They involve invocations, ritual acts, symbolic representations, release of energy, and disposal rituals.
Grimoires believed to hold secrets of the infernal realms.
Infernal powers can manipulate mortal beings, tempting them with sin, vice, and spiritual corruption. This influence may lead to mental or emotional manipulation, obsession, addiction, and possession by demonic entities.
History is filled with accounts of people who believed they had become the targets of harmful spiritual practices intended to bring suffering, illness, misfortune, or even death. Such acts are often associated with personal vendettas, occult beliefs, or attempts to exert power and influence over another person through unseen means.
As I read these accounts, I could not help but think back to one of the darkest periods of my own life.
During the time of the hauntings in my home, the deaths of my animals, and my own close encounter with death, I was confined to my bed and barely functioning. This was no joke, nor was it the product of an overactive imagination. The experience became so overwhelming that I pleaded with my husband to take me to the hospital for both physical and mental assessment.
I wanted someone, anyone, to explain what was happening to me.
Yet despite examinations and investigations, nothing was discovered. No diagnosis could account for the fear, the exhaustion, or the sense that something profoundly wrong was unfolding around me. While doctors searched for answers, the torment continued unabated.
With each passing day I felt myself being worn down, as though I were standing on the edge of an abyss, watching the last of my strength disappear.
I was not merely struggling.
I was on the brink.
In another incident that has remained vivid in my memory, a strange woman appeared unexpectedly at my door. She claimed to work in insurance, yet also described herself as a curandera, or witch doctor, and appeared to have connections to my neighbours. By this point I was already aware of the hostility shown toward me by my Colombian neighbour and those associated with her, whose repeated efforts to drive me from the area had failed.
What unsettled me most was the woman's demeanour. Speaking openly about her work with spirits, she fixed her gaze upon mine and held it there for what felt like an eternity. Minutes passed in silence as she stared intensely, creating an atmosphere that I found deeply disturbing.
In certain traditions there exists a long-standing belief in the power of the evil eye. According to these beliefs, envy, malice, or harmful intent directed toward another person can bring misfortune, suffering, or spiritual oppression. Some even claim that such intentions can attract darker influences into a person's life, amplifying existing difficulties and creating further turmoil.
Of course, beliefs surrounding the evil eye vary greatly between cultures and religions. Not all traditions view it in the same way, and interpretations of its effects differ widely. Nevertheless, stories of curses, spiritual attacks, and harmful intentions have persisted throughout history in many parts of the world.
Practices associated with folk magic and witchcraft are often passed down orally through generations rather than recorded openly. Whether to preserve tradition, avoid persecution, or maintain secrecy, many such beliefs remain hidden from outsiders and are rarely discussed publicly.
Throughout parts of rural Spain, the Canary Islands, South America, Brazil, and Africa, stories of practitioners of these traditions continue to circulate, alongside accounts of groups and secretive communities said to preserve older spiritual practices.
Despite everything I experienced during that period, I survived. Whatever forces were at work, I believe it was through prayer, faith, and the power of the Holy Spirit that I found peace and protection. As I strengthened my faith and called upon the name of Christ, the fear that had gripped me gradually lost its hold.
Yet this raises an enduring question: how does one prove the supernatural?
During those difficult days I prayed intensely, often for hours at a time, seeking deliverance and understanding. Then, after more than a week of prayer, violent thunderstorms swept across the sky. Amid the dramatic weather and the opening of the heavens above, I captured photographs of moments that, to me, felt profoundly significant.

"And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him." - Revelation 12:7-9 (King James Version)
We are in a spiritual war.
